The story of Christ’s birth can be found in Matthew chapters one to two. More widely known is Luke chapter two. Both give different perspectives of the same event. Don’t let the familiarity of the story stop you from seeing the miracle it contains.

God sent His only Son to earth to save you. He would have done this for just one person, but He did it for everyone, including you, dear reader.

The story of the lost sheep can be found in Luke chapter fifteen in the first seven verses. I have always loved this story. It’s important to note that it’s not about Jesus coming to find me, a person who has already chosen to follow Him. It’s a story about Jesus rejoicing over someone who has turned away from going their own way and going towards Jesus. That always brings great rejoicing!

You can read the parable about the wise and foolish builders, otherwise called “the two foundations,” in Matthew 7:24-27. The words of Jesus are as profound today as they were when He spoke them centuries ago. Make sure you are one who has “ears to hear.”

Our last window story may be one of the most important ones. It is also found in Matthew chapter seven. You can read it at the beginning of the chapter in verses seven and eight. You can also read it in Luke 11:9-10.

As Peter tells Kate in the story, Jesus wants to be a part of your life. He wants to come in and live life with you. He is knocking. Do you hear Him? Will you answer the door? Don’t make a snap decision.

Jesus will be a part of your life once you ask Him to do so. That doesn’t mean your life will be easy, but it does mean you’ll never be alone again. Eternal life is yours for the taking. Reach out and take His hand.

This book has been more years in the making than I care to admit. It started as part of National Novel Writing Month in 2013. So, I begin there by thanking the great folks at NaNoWriMo for encouraging people to just get the words down on the page.

Thank you to those who encouraged me on this journey to finish well or just finish already! It was harder than it looked. Thank you especially to Robin Merrill, writer extraordinaire. I cherish our friendship. Your kind words and encouragement were invaluable.

To my wonderful friends, near and far, who were so excited and kept pushing me to get the job done. I want to especially thank Molly Sparling and Nicki LeBlanc for reading and critiquing and helping to find those pesky comma and word usage errors I made. If you find any in this story, they are all mine.

Thank you to my wonderful, loving husband, Bob. He beat me to publishing, which served to push me harder to finish. Not that we’re competitive at all, right babe? The fact that he read this story not once, but twice, when it was far from his type of genre says loads about how much this man loves me. The feeling is mutual. Thank you for all the insight you gave me on the book, honey. It made it a better story.

Lastly, I thank God. He has blessed me with a life I never thought possible.

There are four more windows in Peter’s church whose stories need to be told. Stay tuned for book two in the Forgiveness of the Heart series.
